Hi everyone,

Is API 2000 equations applicable to calculate the breathing flow rate for an ASME pressure vessel? If not, is there any other reference to calculate it?

Cheers

Ali

Hi,

Review the conditions to use API 2000 in the document attached.

What are your operating conditions?

Much appreciated for the reply and the attached overview of API 2000. I know API 2000 is applicable for atmospheric pressure (15 psig), but for my case (ASME pressure vessel with padding pressure around 1 barg and de-padding pressure 2.5 barg and DP 3.5 barg), am I allowed to use API 2000 equations? To me , the concept is the same , and I couldn't find any other references which addressed pressure vessels.

HI,

You should check with your local safety bureau and/or reputable vendors of safety devices (Protectoseal, Groth, and others).
