Dear engineers,

I would like to ask you a bit different question than I usually do.
There is much work done on CO2 capture and many people believe in its potential.
However, there are people, who believe that is just greenwashing. And NOTHING can be achieved with CO2 capture.

What is your opinion about it?

As far as i am aware, very few CO2 projects have achieved the stated aims in terms of CO2 captured.  Might be wrong it would be interesting to have the dicussion.  It is an energy intensive process, and drops overall efficiency by several points on most power plant.

DAC (direct air carbon capture) is another interesting idea, Google, META etc have proposed using it to usefully use the vast amounts of waste heat generated by data centres.  However some of the technology proposed looks like a scam to me.  Again I could be wrong, but an interesting dicussion to be had nonetheless.
