My question was about whether it is required to modify the pipe size to avoid any special flow regime for example mist flow? And if stratified flow regime is a preferable one?

Is my question clear now?

You only need to avoid slug flow where possible. Otherwise size piping to velocity or pressure drop criteria.

There is some context to this statement, stratified flow is preferred in a feed line to a phase separator, reason is easier separation.
