hello everyone, i'm new here and i need some insights about my final project about butadiene sulfone plant design.

i have read about the plant design in McKetta and i also make the PFD like in the book, but my professor is doubting about the tools that i used. i used stirred tank reactors, evaporator, stripper and flaker.

my professor is asking me why i use both evaporator then stripper, i tell her as written in the book that the outstream of evaporator still contain many of SO2 so they use the stripper to meet the spesifications but my professor still havent satisfied with my answer

can u guys help me solve the problem? thank you so much!

Hi,

Take a look at this thesis, you may find pointers.

https://shareok.org/....pdf?sequence=1

I've also attached a doc from Kirk Othmer .

Note:plenty of information Googling "Sulfolane manufacturing process"

Good luck

Breizh
