I am guessing you have a reciprocating compressor supplying air. Each stroke of the compressor piston provides a fixed quantity of air based on the working volume of the compressor cylinder.

If 'not knowing' meant 'not speaking' then I would be silent most all the time! I tend to treat many technical questions like a riddle and try to discover what the questioner really wants to know. Just as King Nebuchadnezzar wanted an interpretation for his dream but refused to reveal the dream first, some people struggle with defining a clear scope. I figure that if I state my premise and also the answer then maybe someone will learn something even if it is not what the original questioner wants. I won't play 20 guesses, but it is not much effort to make a guess and then move on. I am not able to imagine another answer that would fit the shadowy parameters of the question. The one skill that would have helped my engineering career the most is the ability to read minds. I sometimes practice it in the hope I will improve.

May I suggest Google before you ask here?  While Googling, based on your findings, modify your search to find the most pertinent information possible.  It may take multiple searches.

If this is related to Control Valve and ShutDown UVs , typical rule to thumb is consumption of 2 Nm3/hr IA per stroke from full closed to full open position FOR EACH VALVE.

Hello, sorry about not being clear on the question. It is indeed  the control valve and shut down valves used in the treatment set up. As such any unit set up that requires instrument air consumption for opening/closing shut down valves and control valves for the matter. I believe In the context of instrument air consumption for valves, "strokes" refer to the number of times a valve actuator moves back and forth to open or close the valve. Each stroke corresponds to one complete cycle of movement.
