Hello everyone,

 

For the PSV noise calculation, there are two different formulas in the API 521. First one is discharging to atmosphere and other one is internal to pipe. In the internal pipe formula, P2 is defined as downstream absolute pressure of pressure letdown source and P1 is the upstream absolute pressure of pressure let down source. I was wondering that is P1 the relieving pressure of the related PSV ? And is P2 the total backpressure of the related PSV ?

If you guys have some examples related the issue, I would be highly appreciated.
