dear all,

In firewater network hydraulics is there any recommendations for % margin between theoretical ( calculated firewater demand flowrate for a fire scenario) and actual flowrate calculated based on hydraulic analysis ( by software).

Any codes or reference indicates any limitation on % excess flowrate  over the theoretical flowrate. Please clarify.

If the firewater demand is defined and driven by the quoted theoretical calculations (presumably supported by engineering standards and/or legislation documents), then the actual flowrate should not be less than the calculated firewater demand.

Hi,

Agree with Dejan. Your design should cope with the requirements from fire brigade and Insurance broker in charge of your facility.

Regular performance tests along the life of the plant will be required.
