Dear all,

Can any one tell me what should be the mimnimum pressure drop in control valve in feed water line of boilers ?

In any kind of liquid line, pressure drop of control valve should be

HIGHER of the following two values
[1] 1.0 bar
[2] approximately 30% of the frictional pressure drop of the total loop. This means you need not take into account the pressure loss due to static height & equipment(s) while calculating 30%.

The above values are good engineering practice(s). It may differ based on situatoin. The purpose of specifying these values is to enusre 'smooth' operation of control valve.
