I'm trying to obtain Re for a pool boiling situation, in order to calculate the heat transfer coefficient (by convection) for an immersed object.
As I see it, I can described this problem as forced convection, not by flow but by bubble (boiling) agitation. Would that be correct? If so, how could I obtain a Re for this situation??
Any help appreciated!

Hi Liro

About your question, I suggest to read at Chemical Engineers's Handbook from Perry and Chilton. or Perry and Greene.
Or consult at Wolverine Heat Transfer Data Book II chapter 5, subject 5.3 Boiling Heat Transfer at : http://www.wlv.com/p...abook/ch5_3.pdf

And if you read spanish, attached I send a chapter 18 About Intercambio de calor con cambio de fase. by Jorge Rodriguez.
I think that is your answer at page 634. But you can use the references and bibliography for aditional review.

Good luck

Hi!

Just back from a short break, thank you very much for answering Profe.

I'll have a look at the refs, but they seem like the ones I already checked, and my problem is that I don't want the coefficient between the medium and heating surface, I need the coefficient between the submerged object and the (boiling) medium...
But I'll check it thoroughly; maybe as you said, there’ll be other refs that may help...

Thanks again for your willingness to help.
