Hi All ,

I am process engineer working on troubleshooting an existing pressure safety valve PSV system . This my first exposure to thermal relive valve PSV,

During pumping MEG from its tanks by flow rate 900 m³/h for 16 Hr e .the thermal relief valve is passing to the common PSV line .we make temporary solution by closing the out le and inlet of this PSV .

This PSV already callipered .set point change twice form 12 kg/cm³ so 14 kg/cm² and to 15.8 kg/cm² .

My question is what is reason of PSV failure while the pump pressure is too low it is 6.2 kg/ cm³ comparing with PSV pressure .the operating pressure of PSV is 15.8 kg/cm³ ?
Second question : how can me confirm that the problem is not process problem .

Thank you in advance Hamad
