Is the 8th ed of perrys chemical engineers handbook already out? where is it available and how much?

Hi there:

Perry's Chemical Engineering Handbook has been out there for many, many years.

Most of the material that one may need is already in there.

My suggestion is go and get a used one if it is too expensive to get a new copy and too long to wait for a new edition to get released.

You can even get an electronic version of the Handbook.

The Handbook is so good that many engineers consider it as an "Engineering Bible" and an egineering source of knowledge and information that one just needs to have.

I totally agree. I bought my copy (6th edition) somewhere around 1990 and I do not plan to buy a new edition in the near future. Of course they make some changes and additions to every new edition but the main part remains the same over the years.

At Amazon.com one can buy a (used) 7th edition for USD 64.=, a 6th edition for USD 53.= and a 1963 edition for USD 22.=, while a new 8th edition will cost somewhere around USD 199.=.

The administration most definitely would mind. THIS IS A BLATANT CRIME CALLED PIRACY OF COPYRIGHTED MATERIAL!!

it was provided by my school to all students, they have license for academic use only, so it can't be illegal

You might be right, but you have to go with the Administrators's call at Cheresources.com.

Even though you got it from the school for the school purposes, most likely the license does not cover other use beyond your school.

You are telling us that the file size is 4 GB, which I doubt.

Even though you have good intentions, my suggestion is to not to try to upload it and just go with the Administrator's call.

In general, in spite of having good intentions, trying to distribute for free copyrighted material is not recommended at all and there are all kinds of legal issues that one may not be aware of.

i just thought since it was academic use and its free among students i can upload for other students like myself for the benefit...
