Hi,

Our plant diesel hydrotreating unit has preheat (feed/reactor effluent) exchangers followed by a gas-fired furnace/heater. We are currently rate restricted on the furnace ring pressure limit due to fouled preheat exchangers.

Our unit ring pressure limit is currently set at 200 kPag as per vendor recommendation. However, I am keen to try and de-bottleneck the unit by raising the ring pressure constraint. Does anyone have a suggestion regarding how to proceed with this? What calculations do you use?

I have already taken the following steps :
1. I have consulted the burner vendor but they are not keen to raise the constraint as this would result in legal implications if there was a flame-out.
2. We have already taken the burners out one after the other in order to clean the tips.

What else can I do?
