Can anyone help me find information on who or what methods are being used to extract energy from waste heat.

Waste heat, if cooled in a confined space, will return to its original volume causing a vacuum. A vacuum is potential energy.

Thank you

I'm suspect that the most common forms of energy extraction from "waste heat" are to use it for heating of a (process) fluid and the generation of steam. I've never heard of anyone trying to recover waste heat in the form of "vacuum energy". (No claim made on the acceptability of this madeup phrase.) Precisely, I think you are saying that if you permit an atmospheric or low pressure fluid to significantly cool down, then a vacuum will develop. I agree with that but submit that it would not be an effective source of recoverable energy.
