Hello

This is my first msg. on this forum.

I am looking for some good books regarding the oil refining. The requirement is of general process descriptions and calculation guidelines.

Can you people give me the names of some good industry standard books which cover these topics at intermediate and advance levels ?

Waiting for a positive reply

Owais Naeem:

I would suggest the book by James Gary and Glen Handwerk, entitled "Petroleum Refining, Technology and Economics" and published by Marcel Dekker, Inc. The ISBN number is 0-8247-7150-8.

As for process descriptions and schematic flow diagrams of the various refining processes, I strongly recommend you read Section IV, Chapter 2 of the OSHA Technical Manual which is available at:

www.osha.gov/dts/osta/otm/otm_iv/otm_iv_2.html

I hope this helps,
