Dears,
We face problem in continous level measurement in propylene collecting drum. We use DP type (Impluse tube - dry leg calibration)for level measurement. In this case, we observe more pressure acting on LP side, also tried using Capillary type DP - not working. In capillary type once line-up it initially reads as per LG but when tank level changes no change take place in transmitter, same for impluse type LP pressure acts more. For your information - Vapour pressure : operating 15 - 18 bar.Can you give any solution or sugestion highly helpful

pravin,
Two suspects quickly come to mind if I understand your situation correctly. One is that you are experiencing some sort of pluggage. Is polymerization in your impulse lines a possibility? The second suspect is condensation of vapors and resultant filling of your upper impulse line with liquid. That would not explain a non-responsive instrument however. I suspect that a bit of troubleshooting will reveal the problem. Let us know how it goes and good luck.

Gentlemen

Thanks for your reply,as you said we notice condensate on LP which is the reason for more pressure. Now modification we hv done is that put condensate pot on LP filled with glycol and its working now. Firstly, the concern from operations now is will glycol react and quality of product get distrub. Secondly, question comes in my mind now is then why capillary-type LP didnt work out. Also, we didn't face this condensate for past two month from plant startup. More question and observation we face in this topic we can have discuss then n ther when time permits. Once again, thank you for your reply sir.

regards
Pravin
