HI ALL,

Just I'm wondering if you can answer these questions ,honestly I searched but I didn't find the exact answer!!!

What is the meaning of positive isolation? Why it is necessary to have positive isolation of the confined space?

Regarding to confined space, WHAT are names of the meters those are being used for measuring the fowling:
a. Oxygen
b. Explosive gases

Best Regards

Go through the PDO's specification "SP-1125 Isolation of Process Equipment" and you'll find all the answers.

OK I thought you can get it from any of your elder colleagues - everyone in Oman uses Shell/PDO standards, I guess ;)

Try the NORSOK standard and see if it can give you more insightful view into the subject: http://www.standard....134/P-001e5.pdf

You're still not sleeping? It's 1:30 AM in Oman - not a way to go if you're professional engineer waking up at 5AM.

http://www.cheresour...d-vessel-entry/ concerns an issue of positive isolation, if you are interested, with references giving insight on the matter.
Explosivity meters (portable or fixed) measure the amount of explosive gases in air of hazardous areas.
