I need some suggestions for what type of heat exchanger to use for vaporizing a stream of ammonia before introduction into a process vessel. Need to generate 1825 lb/hr of ammonia vapor at 60 psig. Feed to exchanger is liquid at ambient temperature and 75 psig at inlet to exhanger. Sat Steam at 300 psig is available for heat.
Is a kettle type shell with a U-tube bundle inserted into it a reasonable design to use, something like a TEMA type AKT? Steam would be in the tubes. Or would another design be better?
Appreciate any comments and suggestions. Thanks.
