I am looking for different methods of removing Calcium Carbonate Scale From a Produced Water Overboard Line on an Oil Production Facility.

Normally we would use an acid but this pipework is open to the sea and anything we use needs to be environmentally friendly.

To clean this pipework offline will also require a full production shutdown which we are trying to avoid.

If there is anyone with good or bad experiences with removing scale or if there is a chemical/magnetic/electronic device that can be used online it would be good to hear about it.

Thanks,

Will
