Hi all :)

I'd like to know the carry over volume  fraction to input it on hysys

The description is below :

product : gas leaving the slug catcher shall contain a maximum of 1 gallon of liquid carry over per 1 million SCF at specified flow rate

thanks :)

I use

volume fraction carry over =   1gallon / ( 1 gallon + 1million SCF ( 7480519,48 gallon)   ) = 1,33 e-7

it seems very low

Hi N.BH,

I think you can only specify carryover in terms of actual volume flow. SCF will be its volume at standard conditions (60 F, 1 atm in HYSYS I think). So convert 1 million SCF to actual cubic feet at the temperature and pressure of your slugcatcher.  Use that number instead of 1 million SCF and you should get a higher volume fraction carryover.

Cheers,

Adri

T = 90°F

P= 325 Psig

how to convert  1 million SCF to actual cubic feet ?

But then should  convert actual cubic feet to gallon

1 million SCF give me 45770.05 ACF = 34238375,06 gallon

carry over fraction = (1 gallon / 1 gallon +34238375,06 gallon) = 2,92e-8

N.BH,

I think you got your decimals mixed. 45770 ft^3 = 342384 gallon. Carryover fraction should be around 2.92 e-6.
