Hello all,

I am trying to make a simulation model on hysys an pro II for an existing VDU on the same basis in order to compare between the two programs

I have a D1160 assay for the long residue, now the question is; what is the pressure of the astm D1160 test?because it is needed in hysys and pro II, i am little bit confused is these cuts on 10 mmhg or 1 atm

best regards,

Dear Mohammad

astm D1160 cut points are based on 10 mmhg

ASTM D1160 is performed under vacuum, at 10 mm Hg (or another accurately controlled pressure between 1 and 50 mm Hg).

What matters however is at what pressure the temperatures are reported. That can be at 10 mm Hg, but it can also be that the temperatures have been recalculated to atmospheric pressure before reporting. In the latter case the temperatures are valid for 760 mm Hg.

So you need to look carefully on the D1160 assay at what pressure the temperatures apply.
