Dear All,
I use fisher software (ACE Blanketing Valve Sizing Application) to calculate the blanketing flow. And I think their software is still base on API 2000 edition 5. As I knew there is new API 2000 edition 6.
I am not sure if it is still safe to use 5th edition to calculate the flow.
What is the main difference between 5th edition and 6 edition?
Thanks
Kelvin

I would consider the previous version "safe" in that it's theory was used for many years.
I attended a seminar on the newest edition last year and it is claimed to be more accurate, and it is much more complicated.
I hope that many of our members will jump in on this and let's have a good discussion.

Please check out this link for differences between previous & new edition of API STD 2000.

This post gives a broad outlook of the changes done and most importantly gives a link to a spreadsheet for the normal venting calculations as per API STD 2000 -2009
