I have an cause effect question and hope any master in
process /I&C field can help.
interlock is to prevent accidental opening of circulation loop drains of V-67251

When the following conditions is happened,
XV-400 opened (holding vessel bottom valve)
XV-431 opened or XV-435 opened or XV-432 opened or XV-434 opened or
XV-436 opened
P-67251 running (holding vessel circulation pump)

the Action of following will start
XV-402 can not open (nitrogen to circulation loop at bottom of holding vessel)
XV-422 can not open (ODR, organic drain waste)
XV-423 can not open (EDR, aqueous drain waste)

My question is very sample. Why the orgainc waste drain valve and aqueous drain valve will
be closed as if the P-67251 is running.

Thank you very much for your kindly help.

They are probably inhibited from opening whilst the pump is running to prevent the suction line draining and the pump running dry.

I agree, has to be to prevent pump cavitation. Is this a high capacity multistage pump? If so it makes even more sense
