Hi everyone,
for a project we have just received offer for 3 stage centrifugal compressor ,but here the check valve has been provided at the upstream of aftercooler.
Can you tell me any specific reason for not putting the NRV at the downstream of aftercooler?
Regards,
Arpan

Arpan,
A schematic of your system would be helpful. Specifically, I would be looking for the location of the recycle (anti-surge) line in your system. It should be immediately upstream of the check valve. (In fact, that's how you set the check valve's position.) Still, you may have a hot and/or cold recycle. I presume your system is correctly designed, and you imply hot recycle. That is fine and is perfectly acceptable, though I must say that for every compressor that I have seen and which has a hot recycle line, there is also a cold recycle line. I can't comment about whether or not this is a requirement though I do know how the two differ and why you might want both. Another point worthy of your providing is the specific configuration. Again, I must make assumptions, not knowing if the recycle encompasses just the third stage or the whole three stages. If you'd like a more complete discussion on this topic, please supply more complete information regarding your system.

IMO,NRV should be located as close as possible to compressor discharge nozzle before any condensate could be formed by discharge flow travelling along the discharge line!
Thus, above vendor configuration could be correct as per your limited information about the system.
