Hi,
I want to design a caustic wash unit to remove the H2S of naphtha. But I don't how I can proceed. Please can you give me some informations about it? I want to know the optimal conditions (temperature, pressure, caustic percentage) to realize the reaction also. thanks a lot.

Emiso,
as you haven't given any information about the contaminants present in your naphta nor the specification of your product, I am assuming that you only have to remove the residual H2S to not fail the copper corrosion test.
For this, you may design a simple caustic wash, using a 10-20Be caustic solution.
The caustic circulation is between 15-20% of the naptha volumetric flow. It is necessary to use a mix device to provide contact between the naphta and the caustic solution (maybe a statical mixer or a mixer valve).
After this, the mixture caustic solution-naphta shall be separated by gravity in a settler. Upstream this settler, you may use a sand filter to polish the nafta avoiding caustic entrainment in the treated product.
In this treatment the temperature and the pressure are not concerns. You must only take care of high temperature to avoid caustic corrosion.
I hope this can help you.
Best regards, EngK
