Hello everyone!

I'm currently involved in defining hazardeous areas for several natural gas measuring&regulating stations.

I'm using IGE/SR/25 as a guide for this task. I hope someone here is familiar with it.

I have some difficulties about pressure relief valves. IGE/SR/25 mentions ideal and non-ideal venting. As I understand it, the ideal venting is straight upwards and unimpeded, but our client dissagrees. The venting pipe endings are bended downwards.

Here's a picture of them:

The problem is about zoning. The hazardous areas (zones) for non-ideal venting are MUCH bigger. In fact they are so large, that hazardous areas extends over the fence. I have never seen anywhere a relief pipe end pointing straight upwards, which would make ideal venting according to IGE/SR/25.

I will be very grateful for any comment or suggestion. Should I recommend to cut of the bent endings?

Can anyone provide pictures of different vent pipe endings?

Thanx in advance.
