I have a 8x10 pressure vacuum relief valve, pvrv. the set pressure of this valves is 5oz. the valve is protecting storage tank with design pressure 8 oz.

My question:

when this valve start relieving what is the maximum backpressure that this valve will take while maintaining its full capacity?

Please help

That is a question for the manufacturer to answer. They have flow vs pressure curves for their product.

Thank you Proinwv...the pressure flow curve gives 173233 sch at 8 oz. Is that mean at 8 oz. pressure the flow will be 173233 sch?

AsLi,

Please specify the type of PVRV. Is the outlet piped away to safe location/flare? If it is pilot operated one it might there would be no concern about the back pressure...
