Dear members,

 

I am trying to dry chlorine before sending it to the compressor. I am trying to simulate a packed column that will absorb most if not all the water vapor from the chlorine stream. I am using H2SO4 as solvent. I used a Radfrac column from aspen plus but I can't get to converge. The error message has some to do with stages (I said that the tower had 2 stages because I had to enter something) . Any help in simulating a packed tower in Aspen Plus will really be appreciated. I was also wondering if I was using the right unit operation, but I looked around could not find better.

What I am trying to do is simulate that process in Aspen Plus. I was given the material balance. I've been to the link you posted. It does not address my problem.

You received an error message in aspen plus which you do not understand. Perhaps you can provide more info on your problem. At present, no one knows your problem. All that is known is what you were trying to do.

Perhaps you can zip up and post your aspen plus file here. Or perhaps a screenshot of the error messages you receive along with some screens of your simulation etc

I got it to run with two stage attached is pdf of the simulation but i don't like the results. it not really doing i want.

I will keep on working on it. meanwhile if you think of anything that i am doing wrong let me know.

Pingue 2008 ,

 

Wet Cl2 should be introduced at the bottom of the column and H2SO4 sol at the top , at least for clarity!
