Hi. We are currently doing a project on styrene plant simulation. And currently we are trying to calculate utility cost for non-reactive furnace for our simulation. However, we are unable to find any suitable correlation to help us in calculating the cost. Does anyone know where we can actually find this correlation? Thank you very much.

Is that a furnace in which fuel is fired?

In that case you can estimate the fired duty, so you know the fuel consumption, and in combination with the fuel price you knw the fuel cost.

Yup it is. We are using fuel oil. I thought there is some factor to be used to calculate. Thanks for your reply!!
