Hello Members,

We are trying to propose preliminary PFD for crude oil treatment, with minimal complications, for very small filed 2000 bopd of oil max. Process basically involved two stage separation (1st at 5 bar and second at 1 bar) followed by heater treater. I have following questions

1) We have introduce one crude crude heat exchanger between first and second stage of separation. Oil going to inlet of second heat exchanger will be heated by oil coming out of heater treater. Please let me know considering two phase formation in crude which is being heated, will this Heat Exchanger (HE) requires special arrangement and construction efforts. How two phase flow will impact cost of HE.

2) One pump has been introduce between 2nd separator and heater treater to boost pressure from 1 bar to 3 bar before entering to heater treater. Considering this liquid saturated at one bar and 2nd separator temperature. How to arrive at NPSH requirement of pump and how to make it available to pump.

These questions are basic and we are doing it first time so kindly help. Any reference will also help.
