So I'm designing an absorption column.
I have the flow rates/ temperatures of the inlet streams for the solvent and solute. I also have the compositions of the stream. Densities, viscosities are also known.
How would I go about calculating the height of a packed bed and tower tray absorption column as everything I come across seems to want to calculate un relevant variables.
Yours truly,
Muhzayn

Dear Muhzayn:
You can check chapter 6 ("Absorption and stripping of dilute mixtures") in the book "Separation process principles", by Seader, Henley and Roper.
Assuming your process doesn't involve chemical reactions, it must work for you. The book goes step by step in the design procedure, and the aspects that must be considered.
Best regards.
