Dear Process Expets,

 

According to Shell DEP standard minimum flare header and sub-header slope are 1:500 and 1:200 respectively, my queston is any limitition on maximum flare header/sub-header slopes?

Dear Afshin,

 

As far as I know there is no limitation for maximum slope in flare lines, but it's obvious that no one would like to consider higher slope than minimum due to harder pipework and installation...

Refer to my post for LPG drain drum, in my case there is slope toward drain drum.This question raised by our piping and civil group if there is any limitition of sloping down of flare pipe with 5% slope toward drain drum.

For short lines installation 5% slope might not make any problem, but for moderate and long length lines it only would be reasonable where the ground has more/less the same slope...

Dear Fallah,

 

Exactly this is my case which pipe rack has 5% slope due to ground slope (from +53 m to zero elevation).
