I am currently investigating an incident where one of the level transmitter (Enraf) spuriously activated LAHH and initiated the trip logic of tank receipt system. The activation was momentary and it retested back to normal value by itself. Tank actual level was 2 m then and LAHH setting is at 14m.

 

Maintenance team could not find any apparent reason for the activation as they found all system healthy. During the inspection LT was at healthy state.

 

What could trigger such spurious activation ?
