Dear all

Extraction processes using a solvent are common in industry. I am dealing with a hysys simulation where I have the contactor, getting a raffinate and an extract stream, where solvent and pseudocomponents are mixed.

Downstream of main contactor I have some distillation processes and common operations. Which would be the best fluid package to use for these? I have the solvent, water and pseudos.

Thanks in advance

Solvent is an aldehyde.

At what pressure and temperature?

Pressure is low, less than 2 bar. There are also some vacuum columns. Solute is hydrocarbon, defined as pseudocomponents.

You should contact AspenTech for the best advice. Hyrocarbons covers a lot of components.

Do you have published VLE data for the aldehyde solute with similar pure hydrocarbons?  The DIPPR database might have them.  If they do, you could regress your own interaction parameters for something like NTRL or PRSV.
