Dear All

I'm study Ethylene storage tank process whereby the discharge liquified Ethylene (-102 degC, TDH = 20Bar(g)), pump to pipeline, throtling through control valve and undergoes heating/evaporator and final discharge in vapor phase at 27 to 31 deg C.

Since the Ethylene is extremly cool, around -104 to 102 deg C, rundown from storage tank.
Ethylene flow rate = 15,000 to 25,000 kg/hr, liquid density = 566 kg/m3 at 164K
Heat Capacity = 2.27 Kj/C

Available steam/utility supply:
Design condition: 1.6MPa / 250 degC
Saturated steam, at Op, Pressure = 0.5 to 1.2MPa
Let say used 150 deg C

Can anyone advise me:
a) What is the best heat exchanger type we can use? (I would think is Kettle Reboiler type??)
cool.gif The process stream / Shell side inlet temp is -102 deg C. I don't have any plant/process data. Can someone advise me what is the realistic Ethylene liquid (process stream) inlet temp/pressure?

Thanks
