Good day,

Please can anybody advise on the maximum velocity I can use in sizing refractory lined pipe work for low pressure (circa 50 mbarg) and high temperature (700 - 1100 deg C) combustion gasses from a furnace?

I tried using a velocity of 30 m/s but this resulted in very large pipe sizes.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Have you consulted the refractory vendor? Do you have a restraint on pressure drop?
