Hi,

a reference for what is used in china on reactors where phenol and caustic soda are mixed to produce sodium phenate , an intermediate step for the production of salicylic acid .

In my phenolic resin experience, our concern on glass (sight glasses) was mainly due to the presence of caustic soda (the catalyst). Caustic attacks the glass chemically.

Your glass probably has a pH range spec. I don’t recall a phenol specific issue. I’d go by the usable pH range.
