Iam working in Solvent dewaxing unit in Lube oil base stock manufacvturing section. In our ammonia cooled chillers,i find that our Level transmitters are highly misleading. We have buoyant type level transmitters fitted with SS floats. Is there any suggestion why the level indications malfunction?

Normally water is added in level trols/switches during commissioning; sometimes ammonia vapourised and creates pocket and the reason for wrong indication.
Please check with inst/engineers and the manufacturers.
Cheers!
