Hello everybody,

I would need your feeling/feedback/experience about the following:

We are using a thermosiphon system to vaporize a given liquid. The thermosiphon is composed of a drum and a heat exchanger which are interconnected. The level of the liquid to vaporize is maintained constant in the drum. The liquid is circulating in the tubes of the heat exchanger. The heat is given by a thermal fluid which is circulating in the shell.

For energy optimization, we intend to connect a second heat exchanger on this system which will be connected to the drum. In this second heat exchanger hot liquid water will be used as heat source (on the shell side).

These two heat exchangers are not supposed to operate in parallel. One will have the priority but the second one is supposed to take over in case of decrease of energy source on the fist one.

Thank you in advance for your kind help,

Fred

You can connect as many heat exchangers as you wish.
