Hi,
I know ferrous fumarate is insoluble in organic solvents and slightly soluble (~ 1g/100L) in very acidic solution (pH1 HCl solution). However, is there any way to increase the solubility without changing its valency (i.e. remains as ferrous and not ferric). I know we could either introduce a ligand or increase the temperature. However, the addition of ligands cause sensory changes to the product and by increasing the temperature, there's a high possibility of oxidizing ferrous into ferric.
Thanks.
