ΔP=ρaΔvThis equation is copied from Perry book for 6-44 Fluid and particle dynamics, My question is whether this equation is valid for gas pipelines also or only liquid pipelines. Someone can explain further please.

Hi,
The relation mentioned above is related to liquid , it's Joukowskyi formula .
You should review Perry's article related to Water Hammer or do a search with your favorite engine (google, bing,...)
