Generally speaking, as LT and PS are installed on the body of tank. And the tank is used for storing methanol, both instrument should be ex-proof.

Depends on fitting. If an instrument has no joints and is connected to equipment sealless (e.g. welded) then this has no potential to ex-fluid release/leak. And vice versa.

so if they are ex proof..no need to so extent of zone?

hi,
An explosion proof zone should be drawn during project phase. And the instrument should be selected according to this document.
I don't mean that there is no need for zone classification. What I want to express is that these instruments should be ex-proofed from my feeling even I have not seen your zone.
