Hello, I hope everyone is doing great.

I’m currently working on my plant design which is a Dicalcium Phosphate Dihydrate plant. After a discussion, I was told that anhydrous form of a component (in a reactor) does not need to be concentrated and will directly go to centrifuge for separation. While the hydrate form of a component needs to be concentrated then will go through a crystallization in a crystallizer. Is it possible that I can get any explanation or help in this matter?

You will find patents, flow diagrams.

Note: You may want to consult Kirk Othmer. volume 18

For your initial question, you may need to review the terms (bound water and free water). Check also for dewatering process (filtration, centrifugation).
