Hi i am a 4th yr chem engg student and am doin a project concerning sodium hydride reactions in a pharmaceutical company..ythe process used for feeding NaH in this plant is very dangerous as it is done manually..can anyone pls suggest an alternative way/equipment so that the risk could be reduced..

well aluma, i am sorry, i did try to delete the topic in the other community but didnt know how to do it..
anyways can u pls help me regarding the sodium hydride charging problem....i have been asked to modify the charging process of NaH so as to reduce the risks involved..

Ravi,
There are various options, but you do not state what are you looking for?
What is the current method of charging NaOH? You can have varities from a FCV to a pressurized pt, etc? I think more details would help us evaluate it.

Currently NaH is being charged by dropping NaH polybags into the reactor through the reactor manhole but the process is quite risky as there are chances of it getting into contact with moisture from atmosphere or water.

What i'm looking for is a safer method which won't involve manual charging of NaH..pls help and thanks for the reply.
