i am a student and is in need of help to design the process for ethelene manufacture by hydration of ethylene. the ethanol vapours produced is absorbed in water in an absorption column, by which unreacted ethylene can be recycled back to reactor.

what is the type of packing, packing arrangement and its nominal size to be used in such an absorption column. also, what should be the tower dia., height , number of trays and feed tray location for maximum absorption to occur?

Dear mjp,
To answer that, we have to know the tempreature and pressure inlet and outlet, the flow rate, and the pressure drop.
