Hello, I am trying to design a plant for ethylene oxide production. In the final purification step, I have gaseous ethylene oxide with low molecular weight, highly polar inpurities compounds such as formaldehyde and acetaldehyde to separate.
Would anybody be able to tell me what is the best purification procedure for this. The best I have come up with is steam stripping, but i do not want to add water.

Instead of using live steam to strip out the impurities, you could use a steam-heated reboiler and distillation. Visit this web-site for a flow diagram and description of such a design:
