Hi everyone,

Gas detection is and will always be a hot topic in refineries and petrochem plants. Many sites are continuously upgrading their systems and improving accuracy and reliability. We are on the edge of replacing our old system as well and looking for technologies.

While looking into semiconductor detection (most applications are for H2S but we are looking for the ethylene detection) we heard lots of rumours that the detectors tend to "fall asleep" if they don't see gas every once in a while (6months?). Does anyone have any experience to share on this?
