I have designed a process control training workstation, it contains a water loop and an air loop, I have calculated the valves, line sizes, drums and reservoirs sizes, compressor and pumps data and selected the desired equipments, I would like to know haw can I simulate the unit before fabricating it, so that I can obtain controlling parameters and verify that if there is any problem with the package like instability, improper speed of response.

Best regards.

Dear,
This really made me confused. You designed everything so what is problem to simulate it in a simulator if you have designed the whole things then simulation is not a big deal as you already know everthing.

j.m,

By "designing process control training workstation", have you considered the most important issues: type of process control (control scheme), and controller tuning parameters?

It is not clear from your question if this has been done already. If yes, you can start running dynamic simulations and watch how different PID parameters influence system behaviour. The same should be applied for evaluating effectiveness of different control schemes.

Regards,
