Hi,
The scenario is like this :
I m dosing 33%HCL in a neutralization pit from a 0.1 m3 HDPE tank. The problem is that the HCL fumes are spreading in the area and creating a safety critical situation and I ve been asked to design a Seal Pot (more preciously an absorber) with water as an absorbant. But I dont know where to start from, what factors do I need?

However I have developed some of my thinking that the rate of evaporation of HCL must be in equilibrium with the rate of Absorption or else the vaccum will create in the empty region of an absorber and will suck the acid from the tank creating an another problem. but how to calculate the rate of absorption and rate of evaporation?
hopei m not missing anything else.

Ched can you please help me out or anyone else want to answer, feel free to reply.
