Dear Friends,

I have some queries on PSV/TRV's.

1) While filling the Pressure Safety Valve (PSV) datasheet, I came across the word Full/Semi Nozzle. And I found the definition from Crosby manual.

“In a full nozzle valve, only the nozzle and disc are exposed to the fluid media when the valve is closed. In a semi nozzle valve, the nozzle, disc, and part of the valve body are exposed to the inlet fluid when the valve is closed”.

My query is when/how we have to select Full nozzle and when to semi nozzle for PSV’s?

2) And in Thermal Relief (TRV) datasheet, our people used to mention modified nozzle. But they also not clear. Why we have to use modified nozzle in TRV.

Regards,
Swak
