Hi,

We are facing problem in our DC4 column, 'ie' Hydrate formation is happening in air fan cooler; even the condition are enough good and these condition are here,
Column top temp=105^0C
Air fan cooler outlet temp=93^0C (presently all air fan cooler not runing)
Trim cooler outlet temp=39.5^0C
Column pressure=20.0barg
Reflux sample C5+ contents=50%
H2S in boot water 939wt ppm.

high H2S and C5+ contents is the problem, or any one can explain about this problem or have some material for this problem or some one have dealt with problem let me know. we are phasing this problem after unit startup (this unit was under shut down for two month).
Thanks
Toor

Hi Toor

Something is not clear from your post.. What makes you think that hydrates are formed in the air cooler? Operating conditions certainly do not indicate hydrate formation as likely option.

How did you come up with a conclusion that hydrates are present, what is happening when you keep fin-fans online?

Hi Zauberberg,

We find out the problem yesterday, the problem was with overhead receiver PCV, its PT got freez and indeed there is no hydrate formation.
Thanks a lot for your valuable time to spend on my thread.
